If you don't receive the password reminder, check your spam/junk folder.

I can’t remember my username or password.
Go to http://www.wikispaces.com/user/remind and enter your email address to receive a password reminder. You must request this reminder with the email address you originally used to register.

If you don't receive the password reminder, check your spam/junk folder.

My teacher created my account, but I lost my username/password.
Ask your teacher to send us an email at help@wikispaces.com to recover your username or reset your password.

I tried to reset my password but it didn’t work.
Check your junk/spam mailbox to see if the confirmation email ended up in there. If not, send us an email with your username and we'll assign you a temporary password. Be sure to send the email from the address associated with your Wikispaces account.

My school / company / organization changed my email address. What do I do?
Before we can do anything, we need to confirm that you are who you say you are. Unfortunately, we can’t just take your word for it: according to our privacy policy, the only way for you to confirm your identity is to prove that you can receive email at the email address we have on record for you. To get started, email us at help@wikispaces.com. You'll need to tell us your username. If you can't remember your username, we'll need the email address the account was opened under. If you don't have either piece of information, we won't be able to help you. Once we have your account information, we’ll send a confirmation email to the old address.

If you can still receive email at that address, just respond to our email. Even if your response is coming from a different address than the one we sent to, we’ll know that you have access to that inbox. That counts as confirmation.

If you can’t receive email at the old address, you will need to put us in touch with the person who controls your old email address. Contact us with that information and we'll do our best to help.

I tried to change my email address, but I never received the confirmation email.
Check your junk/spam mailbox to see if the confirmation email ended up in there. If not, send us an email with your username and we'll confirm your email address for you. Be sure to send the email from the address associated with your Wikispaces account.

I can't remember my username.
You can log in with the email you used to register in place of your username. Once you are logged in, your username will appear in the upper right corner of the window.

I'm having trouble creating an account.
Watch our video tour on getting started. If that doesn't answer your questions, check the following:
  1. Your username.
    • Every Wikispaces username must be unique. Try using numbers, or initials, or a first name-last name combination to create a unique username.
    • Your username must be at least 3 characters long, and can't be longer than 32 characters.
    • Usernames can only contain letters (capital or lowercase), numbers, underscores (_), hyphens (-), and periods (.).
  2. Your password.
  3. Your password must be at least 6 characters long.
  4. Each email address can only be used for one Wikispaces account. If you already have an account on Wikispaces, create your new account with a new email address.
  5. You do not need to create a wiki when you open an account; once you have an account, you can create as many wikis as you want.
  6. Every Wikispaces wiki name must be unique.
  7. The wiki name must be at least 3 characters long, and can't be longer than 63 characters.
  8. Wiki names can only contain letters (capital or lowercase), numbers, and hyphens (-). Wiki names can't begin with a hyphen.
  9. Your email address.
  10. Your wiki name(optional).

I’m sure I’m using the correct username and password, but it won’t let me log in.
There are a few things that could be causing this problem:
  1. Make sure the clock on your computer is correct. It should be within a few minutes of real time and in the right time zone.
  2. Make sure your browser is accepting our cookies (www.wikispaces.com, session.wikispaces.com, *.wikispaces.com, and yourspace.wikispaces.com).
  3. If you have a firewall on your computer or your network, check to make sure it is not blocking our cookies.
  4. Clear your browser's cache.

If you still have problems or need assistance, please send us an email at help@wikispaces.com that includes your username and wiki name, and is sent from the email address that is associated with your Wikispaces account.

I can't sign in to my account, the screen reloads once I enter my username and password
1. Make sure your browser has Cookies enabled:

Firefox:

  • Check mark Accept cookies from sites
Internet Explorer:
  • Click on the Tools button and select Internet Options

  • Select "Allow local data to be set"
Safari:
  • Open the Safari menu and select Preferences > Privacy
  • Next to "Block Cookies", select Never, or add Wikispaces as a trusted site

2. Try logging in without using your Password Management Software (1Password, RoboForm, LastPass, etc.): In an effort to reduce spammers, we take a few measures that trick bots to use the wrong sign in fields. That is why some Password Management programs won't work when you're signing in to your Wikispaces user account.

My email address has changed and now I can’t access my account.
For security reasons, we need to confirm your identity before we can make any changes to your account. You can confirm your identity in one of two ways:
  1. Send us an email from the email address associated with the account.
  2. Provide the correct password along with the correct username and/or confirmed email address.

As long as you can locate your password, you will be able to log in using your expired email address in place of the username. You can change your email address on your My Account page.

If you can’t locate your password, you will need to send us an email from the old email account to give us permission to change any account information. If you no longer have access to that address, you will need to put us in touch with the person who controls your old email address. Contact us with that information and we'll do our best to help.
